Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Follow the recommended procedure for removal and installation of tires and or wheel assemblies.Ensure that the machine and tire and or wheel assembly are properly supported at all times.Improper procedures that are used to remove and install tires and or wheel assemblies can result in personal injury or death.
Improper blocking of the rear axle housing can cause personal injury.The rear axle housing is made to oscillate. During removal and installation of the rear tires and rims, the rear axle housing must be prevented from oscillating.Place wood blocks between the rear axle housing and the rear main frame to prevent oscillation of the rear axle housing.
Lower the bucket to the ground.

Place suitable chocks in front of the front tires and behind the front tires, as shown.

Place wood block (2) between axle housing (3) and rear main frame (1) on both sides of the machine, as shown. This will prevent the rear axle housing from oscillating.

Position Tooling (A) under the rear frame, as shown. Make sure that Tooling (A) is positioned under the frame rails.
Use Tooling (A) in order to raise the rear of the machine until the tires are off the ground.
Lock Tooling (A) in position.

Attach a suitable lifting device to tire (4), as shown.
Remove bolts (5) from the rim.Note: Do not damage the valve stem when the tire and the rim is removed.
Use a suitable lifting device in order to carefully remove tire (4) and the rim as a unit. The combined weight of the tire and of the rim is approximately 1590 kg (3500 lb).
Repeat this procedure for the other rear tire.
