The existing 6V-1792 track bolts and 1S-1860 track nuts can loosen or break on certain D6T Track-Type Tractors operating in landfill applications. If the existing hardware loosens, the track and the shoe may become damaged.

ACTION REQUIRED
Participation is limited to 4000 part hours, 100% link wear, or 4 part years, whichever comes first.
If any hardware is found loose or missing, then replace all hardware on that shoe. Clean the abutment surfaces and apply lubricant to the threads prior to installation. Tighten each bolt to 400 N-m, followed by an additional turn of 120 degrees.

If there has been a previous repair, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim.
For repairs made in the shop:
During assembly of new shoes onto new link assemblies, replacement of all bolts and nuts is covered. No labor is provided.
During pin and bushing turn, replacement of all bolts and nuts is covered. No labor is provided during turn time.
This Service Letter can be used only once per machine when replacing all track bolts and track nuts.
For repairs made in the field:
When failures occur in the field, 1/2 hour of labor is covered per shoe.
This Service Letter can be used multiple times per machine for field repairs. A field repair is defined as the replacement of 20 track bolts and 20 track nuts or less.
