Replace the Engine Oil Filters
Replace the engine oil filters when any of the following conditions are met:
Every oil change
The engine oil filter differential pressure reaches 160 kPa (23.2 psi).Service tools are available to aid in the service of oil filters. Consult your Cat dealer for the part names and the part numbers. Follow the instructions that are supplied with the service tools. If the service tools are not used, perform the following appropriate procedure.
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Perform the following procedure after the oil has been drained.

Attach a suitable container to bracket (1) to collect oil as the cover is removed.
Open drain valve (2) and drain the oil from the filter housing.
Remove bolts from cover (3) and remove cover. Clean the cover.
Remove o ring seal (4). Clean and Inspect the o ring seal for damage or deterioration. Replace the o ring seal if necessary.
Remove the filter element (5).
Clean inside the filter housing.
Inspect the new oil filter element. Install the new filter element.
Install the o ring seal. Ensure that the o ring seal is properly seated.
Install the cover. Ensure that the cover is properly seated. Tighten the bolts to the proper torque.
Close the oil drain valve and remove the container from the bracket.
Clean up any oil that has spilled. Properly dispose of all material used to clean up oil.
Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
