2. Use a 2P8250 Strap Wrench to remove oil filters (4) from the oil filter base.3. Remove the oil level gauge and tube assembly (2) from the oil pan.4. Remove the bolts, retainers and ring to disconnect tube (1) from the oil filter base.5. Remove clips (3) from the oil pan and tube (1). 6. Disconnect tube (1) from the oil cooler, and remove it from the engine.7. Remove the bolts from elbows (5) and (6) to remove the elbows and the tube as a unit from the engine. 8. Remove all the bolts from oil pan (7), and use two men to remove the oil pan from the engine. The weight of the oil pan for 3512 Engines is 29 kg (64 lb.). The weight of the oil pan for 3516 Engines is 45 kg (99 lb.). 9. Use nylon straps to fasten a hoist to oil pan (8) as shown. Remove all the bolts from oil pan (8), and lower the oil pan to the floor. Remove the oil pan from under the engine. The weight of the 3512 oil pan is 43 kg (95 lb.). The weight of the 3516 oil pan is 57 kg (126 lb.).Install Oil Pan
Make sure the gaskets are in position, and use 7M7260 Liquid Gasket on all gasket joints.1. Put oil pan (1) in position under the front of the engine. Lift oil pan (1) in position with nylon straps and a hoist as shown. Install all the bolts to hold the oil pan to the engine. 2. Use two men to put pan (2) in position. Install the bolts that hold pan (2) to the engine block and pan (1). 3. Make sure the O-ring seals on elbows (4) and (5) are in position, and put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the seals. Put elbows (4), (5) and the tube as a unit in position, and install the bolts to hold the elbows to the oil pan and oil pump.4. Make sure the O-ring seals on tube (3) are in position, and put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the seals. Put tube (3) in position, and connect it to the oil cooler elbow. 5. Put clips (7) in position on tube (3), and install the lugs, nuts and bolts to hold the clips to the oil pan.6. Install the ring, retainers and bolts to connect tube (3) to the oil filter base.7. Install the oil level gauge, tube assembly (6) and the gasket in the oil pan.8. Install oil filters (8) on the oil filter base. Follow the installation instructions on the filter.9. Fill the engine with oil to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.
