Illustration 1. Location of cylinder group components.If the incorrect plungers are used, damage may occur when the cylinder is under full hydraulic pressure. If this occurs, the rod end of the cylinder will bottom out and distort the quick-drop valve mounting face.
Adaptable To: The part number for the 9T2869 Cylinder Group has not changed. The new 9T7061 Piston Assembly replaces the former 5J3026 Piston Assembly. The new 9T7059 Plunger replaces the former 5J2528 Plunger. The new 1J8569 Insert replaces the former 5J2529 Insert. This change was effective with 2YD1-up. The new plungers must be installed correctly to prevent possible cylinder damage. The plungers should be positioned with the longest end of the stem extended out of the piston, facing the cap end of the cylinder (see Illustration 2).
