Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Clean the area around the filler cap before removing the filler cap.

Slowly loosen the filler cap in order to relieve the tank pressure. Remove the filler cap.

Clean the area around the all wheel drive oil filter before removing the all wheel drive oil filter. Remove the all wheel drive oil filter with a strap type wrench. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Oil Filter - Inspect".Note: Discard any drained fluids and discard any filter elements according to local regulations.
Clean the all wheel drive oil filter housing base. Make sure that all of the old filter gasket is removed.
Apply a light coat of hydraulic oil to the gasket of the new all wheel drive oil filter.
Install the new all wheel drive oil filter by hand. Additionally tighten the all wheel drive oil filter by 3/4 of a turn, after the gasket contacts the filter base.

Maintain the hydraulic oil level above the "ADD" mark in the sight gauge.
Inspect the filler cap gasket. If the filler cap gasket is damaged, replace the filler cap gasket. Install the oil filler cap.
