Use Tooling (C) and Tooling (D) in order to position tailgate cylinder (16) to link arm (7) .Note: Tooling (C), Tooling (D) and the nylon lifting sling were installed during the removal procedure of the arm assembly.

Install pin (18), bolt (17) and the washer. Remove bolts (9), the washers and flange (30). Remove Tooling (D), Tooling (C) and the nylon lifting strap.
Repeat Step 5 through Step 11 for the other side.Installation of the Tailgate

Position tailgate (8) to the ejector body.

Install pin (11) through the new pin and into tailgate (8). Repeat this step for the opposite side.

Install flange (30), bolts (9) and the washers. Repeat this step for the opposite side.

Remove any chains that secured the tailgate to the mast or load arms of the lift truck. Attach a suitable double chain lifting sling to the brackets on tailgate (8). Take up the tension. Remove the lift truck.

Use the hoist in order to lift tailgate (8) into position. Align the bore in the tailgate with the bore in link arm (7) and use a suitable copper mallet to install pin (6). Repeat this step for the opposite side.

Install washer (5) and bolt (4). Repeat this step for the opposite side.

Connect hose (14) and hose (15) to tailgate cylinder (16). Tighten retaining nut (13).

Remove pins (1). Slowly lower the hoist in order to remove the lifting equipment. There might be air in the hydraulic oil system for the hoist. In this case, tailgate (8) will lower with the hoist. Lower the hoist until the lifting equipment is loose before removing the lifting equipment.
Perform the following procedure in order to purge any air out of the hydraulic oil system for the tailgate.
Start the engine.
Retract the ejector cylinder fully. Extend the ejector cylinder fully. Cycle the ejector cylinder several times in order to lift the tailgate and lower the tailgate several times.
When the tailgate operates fully, install pins (1) in order to lock the tailgate in a CLOSED position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7573, "Tailgate".
Stop the engine.

Install cover (3), bolts (2) and the washers. Repeat this step for the opposite side.
Remove pins (1). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7573, "Tailgate".Lubricate the bearings in the tailgate. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7378, "Tailgate and Tailgate Cylinder Bearings - Lubricate". Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7379, "Tailgate and Tailgate Cylinder Bearings - Lubriicate".
