Information:

Attach 1U-6605 Reflective Tape to the flat of the drive shaft (7) of the generator.
Start the engine and operate the engine at LOW idle.
Actuate either the boom or stick controls in order to warm the oil to 50 degrees Celsius. Actuate the control to the full extent of the cylinder travel. Hold the control valve in one position for a period with the cylinder stalled. This will help to warm the oil.
Place generator switch in the ON position. Push the red lock actuator in order to release the desired position. The generator switch is located on the right console.
Move the throttle position switch to position 10. The engine is now in HIGH idle.

Joystick (front switch)
Energize the magnet with "LIFT/DROP" switch. Press the front switch on the left joystick in order to energize the generator. This will load the generator while the speed is set.
Use the monitor to verify that the engine speed is at HIGH idle. Note: The AESC is disabled when the generator switch on the right console is in the ON position. The generator should now be running.
With the magnet ON and the engine at HIGH idle, measure the speed of the generator by using a 9U-7400 Multitach Tool Gp (C). The correct operating speed for the loaded generator (magnet on) is 3000 rpm. If the speed is incorrect, adjust the speed of the generator to 3000 50 RPM. Generator speed directly affects the output voltage. This procedure should always be followed by adjusting the Operating Voltage.
Remove the Hex Head Cap in order to expose the Stroke Limiter screw (4). Adjust the speed of the generator by turning screw (4) of the stroke limiter. Screw (4) of the stroke limiter is located on the valve for the generator.
DECREASE generator speed by turning the adjusting screw clockwise.
INCREASE generator speed by turning the adjusting screw counterclockwise.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the loaded generator speed of 3000 50 rpm is achieved. Operating Voltage Set
: High voltage exists at the generator system when the generator is activated.Note: Generator speed should always be set before adjusting the Operating Voltage. In order to provide a sufficient operating voltage measure the voltage only with a connected and activated magnet. Main disconnect switch and main breaker at the magnet controller must be in the ON position.

Start the engine.
Turn on the generator switch and activate the magnet with the Magnet Lift/ Drop switch.
Check the Operating Voltage across terminals "11" (15) and "12" (16) of the terminal block (14). The Operating Voltage should be 230 5 VDC. If Operating Voltage is 230 5 VDC, skip Steps 4 through 6.
Turn off the generator and the engine.
Set the output voltage to 230 5 VDC by adjusting R1 (11).
Move the R1 Variable adjustment (11) to the LEFT in order to INCREASE the Operating Voltage of the generator.
