Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Remove the fuel filter. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel Filter - Change".

Disconnect harness assemblies (2) and (6).
Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and (5).
Disconnect tube assembly (1). Disconnect fitting assembly (4).
Using two people, remove bolts (8) and remove fuel filter housing (7). The weight of fuel filter housing (7) is approximately 23 kg (51 lb).

Remove starting priority valve (9) and LPFS pressure regulating valve (10).Installation Procedure
Install fuel filter housing (7) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten LPFS pressure regulating valve (10) and starting priority valve (9) to a torque of 36 3 N m (27 2 lb ft).
