A 1P-1857 Retaining Ring Pliers 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Install stop (29), shims (28), and pistons (23) and (27).
Install O-ring seal (24), orifice (25), and spring (26) into body (22).
Install body (22) and screws (21).
Install cover (20) and bolts (19).

Install ball (17), spring (16), and retainer (15). Use Tooling (A) in order to install retaining ring (14) into spool (18).

Install springs (13), spool assembly (12), spring (11), slug (10), and plug (9).

Install cover assembly (6) and bolts (3). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 30 7 N m (22.1268 5.1629 lb ft).
Install cartridge assembly (7) into the manifold (8). Tighten spool assembly (7) to a torque of 50 5 N m (37 4 lb ft).
Install coil assembly (2) and tighten nut (1) to a torque of 9 0.5 N m (80 4 lb in).
Install manifold assembly (4) and tighten screws (5) to a torque of 4 0.5 N m (35 4 lb in). End By:
Install the lockup clutch and solenoid valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lockup Clutch and Solenoid Valve - Install".
