Remove Marine Engine Sea Water Pump
1. Disconnect sea water inlet line (1) and outlet line (2) from the sea water pump.2. Remove pump mounting bolts (3) and remove sea water pump (4).Install Marine Engine Sea Water Pump
1. Position sea water pump on engine, and install pump mounting bolts.2. Connect the sea water inlet line and sea water outlet line.Disassemble Marine Engine Sea Water Pump
preparatory step: a) remove sea water pump 1. Remove drive gear retaining nut (1), lock washer, flat washer, drive gear (2), and woodruff key (3).2. Remove bearing retaining ring (5).3. Remove cam retaining screw (4). 4. Remove the impeller cover and pry cam (7) out from between the impeller and pump housing. 5. Remove spline-seal (8). Using a soft punch, drive the shaft assembly out of the pump housing and impeller assembly.6. Press the bearing assembly off the water pump shaft.7. Remove rubber slinger from opening (6) in the water pump housing. 8. Remove impeller (9) and O-ring seal (10) from pump housing.9. Remove wear plate (12) and carbon seal assembly (11) from pump body.10. Remove the oil seal from the water pump housing.Assemble Marine Engine Sea Water Pump
1. Using tool setup (A), install oil seal in housing with lip of seal toward bearing.2. Press the bearing assembly on the water pump shaft. 3. Position slinger (1) in opening (2) in the water pump housing and install shaft and bearing assembly. Install bearing retaining ring (13).4. Install the ceramic ring seal (8) and rubber cup (9) (part of seal assembly) as follows: a) Wet the ceramic ring seal, rubber cup, and bore of pump body with water.b) Install the rubber cup in pump body.c) Using hand pressure only, install ceramic ring seal inside of rubber cup with polished side toward impeller end of body.5. Install wear plate (7) in body. Position cam (6) in body, and install retaining screw (5).6. Install remainder of seal assembly as follows: a) Wet the inside of seal assembly and shaft of pump with water.b) Using hand pressure only, press the seal assembly and spring on shaft until polished face of carbon seal contacts the polished face of ceramic ring seal (8). The tangs of spring (11) should be aligned with notches in case (12) of seal assembly. 7. Install the O-ring seal (10) on shaft. Using compressor (B), install the impeller in pump body. Install spline seal (4) and cover (3).8. Install the woodruff key. Position drive gear on shaft, and install retaining nut and washers. Tighten nut to 50 5 lb. ft. (6,9 o,7 mkg).concluding step:a) install sea water pump
