Remove Marine Engine Sea Water Pump Drive Group
preparatory step:a) remove sea water pump 1. Remove the sea water pump drive gear housing retaining bolts (1).2. Remove the drive gear housing and shaft assembly (2). 3. Remove the sea water pump idler gear housing and gear retaining bolts (3).4. Remove the idler gear housing and gear assembly (4).Install Marine Engine Sea Water Pump Drive Group
1. Position the idler gear housing and gear assembly on the engine. 2. Install the idler gear housing and gear assembly retaining bolts.3. Position the drive gear housing and shaft assembly on the engine.4. Install the drive gear housing and shaft assembly retaining bolts.concluding step:a) install sea water pumpDisassemble Marine Engine Sea Water Pump Drive Group
preparatory step:a) remove sea water pump drive group1. Remove the retaining bolt (4) and spline adapter (3) from the drive gear assembly. 2. Using tool setup (A), pull the drive gear from the shaft. Remove the woodruff key. 3. Remove the bearing retaining ring (2) from the housing (1).4. Remove the dust cap (5) and the bearings and shaft assembly (7) from housing (1).5. Remove the oil seal (6) from housing.6. Press the bearings and spacer from the shaft. 7. Remove the retaining bolt (9) and plate (10) from the drive idler gear.8. Remove the thrust washer, gear (8), and thrust washer from the shaft.9. Remove the bearings from the idler gear.Assemble Marine Engine Sea Water Pump Drive Group
1. Using tool setup (A) install the bearing in the idler gear. 2. Install the thrust washer on the shaft with the bronze face toward the gear. Install idler gear (1) on the shaft.3. Install the second thrust washer on the shaft with the bronze face toward the gear. Install the gear retaining plate (2) and bolt (3). 4. Using tool setup (B), install the oil seal in the housing with the lip of seal toward the bearings.5. Press the bearings and spacer on the drive gear shaft.6. Install the bearing and shaft assembly into the housing. 7. Install the dust cap and bearing retaining ring (4). 8. Heat the drive gear to 350°F. Install the woodruff key and drive gear on the shaft.9. Install the spline adapter (5) and adapter retaining bolt (6).concluding step:a) install sea water pump drive group
