4. Remove used filter elements. Replace them with new elements. 5. Inspect cover seal and use new seal if used one is damaged. Coat seal with clean hydraulic oil. 6. Install cover carefully to avoid seal damage. Tighten bolts evenly.7. Install filler cap. Start engine and operate at low idle to fill filters. Check for leaks.8. Stop engine and check hydraulic oil level.(26)Transmission System
Hot oil or components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Machine must be level, bowl lowered, parking brake set, engine stopped, and transmission oil cool.
Filter Element
1. Remove transmission oil filter drain plug. Allow oil to drain. 2. Remove cover and used element assembly.3. Clean the filter housing.4. Clean and install the housing drain plug. Torque to 35 5 lb. ft. (45 7 N m). 5. Remove the retaining nut and retainer. Remove the filter element from the cover.6. Wash cover in clean non-flammable solvent and allow to dry.7. Install a new element and the retainer on the cover. Torque retaining nut to 10 2 lb. ft. (14 3 N m).8. Replace cover seals if damaged. Coat seals with clean oil. Install cover and element assembly carefully to avoid seal damage.Magnetic Screen
1. Remove drain plug from screen housing. Allow oil to drain. 2. Remove cover. Remove screen and magnets (in side screen).
Do not drop or rap magnets on heavy objects. Replace any damaged magnets.
3. Wash screen and magnets in clean non-flammable solvent. Clean magnets with a cloth, or stiff brush. 4. Install clean screen and magnets. Clean cover. Replace seals if damaged. Install cover. Install housing drain plug.Flywheel Housing Sump Screen
1. Remove flywheel housing sump magnetic drain plug. Allow oil to drain. Clean and install plug. 2. Disconnect tube from sump screen housing. Remove bolts holding housing to drive shaft housing. 3. Lower housing. Remove and wash screen in clean non-flammable solvent.4. Inspect seals on each side of screen. Replace if damaged.5. Inspect the seals on housing and sump tube assembly. Replace seals if damaged. Install the screen and housing and connect the tube assembly.Transmission Case Sump Screen
1. Remove transmission case sump screen and cover assembly. 2. Remove retaining nut and separate screen from cover.3. Wash cover and screen in clean non-flammable solvent. Allow to dry. 4. Install screen to cover. Inspect cover seal. Replace if damaged. Install cover and screen assembly in transmission case. 5. Add oil to transmission until oil shows on the dipstick.6. Start engine and run at low idle to allow oil to warm and to fill housings. Check for leaks.7. Measure oil level with engine running at low idle and oil warm. Maintain level between ADD and FULL marks on dipstick.(27)Engine Crankcase
1. Loosen clamp and disconnect breather outlet hose. 2. Loosen clamp and remove breather.3. Wash breather in clean non-flammable solvent. Shake and allow to dry. 4. Inspect breather seal. Replace if damaged. Install breather and connect outlet hose.(28)Brake Camshafts
Lubricate 6 fittings (8 fittings on later machines). Lubricate fitting (1)
