Apply Tooling (A) to the shaft of front idler (8). Install any shims that were present. Install collar (11). Make sure that the groove of the shaft is in alignment with the hole in the bearing of collar (11). Install bolts (10). Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 70 15 N m (52 11 lb ft). Strike bolts (10) with a suitable hammer and tighten bolts (10) again.

Attach a suitable lifting device to front idler (8). The weight of the front idler is approximately 226 kg (500 lb). Install front idler (8) .

Install bolts (9) to the inside and the outside of front idler (8). Install bolts (7) to the inside and the outside of front idler (8) .

Install strips (3) to the inside and the outside of the front idler. Install the shims and plates (5). Install spacers (6) and bolts (4) to the inside and the outside of the front idler. Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 270 27 N m (200 20 lb ft).
Check the clearance between plate (5) and the track roller frame. The clearance should be 0.76 0.51 mm (.030 .020 inch) throughout the total forward and rearward travel of plate (5). Add or subtract shims at Location (Y), if necessary.
Check the clearance between the yoke and the wear pad of the track roller frame at Location (Z). The clearance should be 0.76 1.9 mm (.030 .075 inch). Add or subtract shims at Location (X), if necessary.
Install guard (2) and bolts (1) to the outside and the inside of the front idler.End By: Connect the tracks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Connect".
