Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct filling and draining procedure.

Remove insulation (1) from hose assembly (2).
Illustration 2 g03736357Note: Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8231, "Removal Procedures for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Connectors" for the correct removal procedure of hose assembly (2).
Disconnect hose assembly (2) and harness assembly (3).

Disconnect hose assemblies (4) from DEF injector assembly (6).
Remove bolts (5).
Remove DEF injector assembly (6) and gasket (7). Discard gasket (7). Discard seal (8) from DEF injector assembly (6). Installation Procedure
Install DEF injector assembly (6) in the reverse order of removal. Note: To maintain cleanliness, the protective caps must remain in place until the final fluid connections are made.Note: Install gasket (7) so that the metal is toward the Diesel Particulate Filter Group.
Replace gasket (7) with a new gasket. Replace seal (8) with a new seal.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (5).
Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 5.0 0.5 N m (44 4 lb in).
Retighten bolts (5) to a torque of 5.0 0.5 N m (44 4 lb in). Turn an additional 90° 5°.
