1. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2) from the transmission oil pump. 2. Fasten a hoist to transmission oil pump (3) as shown. Remove two bolts (4) and the washers that hold the pump in place. Remove the transmission oil pump. The following steps are for the installation of the transmission oil pump.3. Check the condition of the O-ring seals used in the hose assemblies that are connected to the transmission oil pump. If the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.4. Put transmission oil pump (3) in position, and install the two washers and bolt (4) that hold it.5. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2) to the transmission oil pump.6. Check the oil level in the transmission. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.Disassemble Transmission Oil Pump
Start By:a. remove transmission oil pump 1. Remove elbow (1) from the transmission oil pump. Remove the O-ring seal from the elbow. 2. Remove bolts (2). Remove manifold assembly (3). 3. Remove O-ring seal (4) from the manifold assembly.4. Remove bearings (5). Put identification marks on the drive gear assembly and idler gear assembly as to their location in the body assembly.5. Remove drive gear and idler gear assemblies (6) from the body and cover assemblies. 6. Remove body assembly (7). Remove the O-ring seal from the cover assembly. 7. Remove bearings (8) from the cover assembly. 8. Remove O-ring seal (9) and lip-type seal (10) from the cover assembly.Assemble Transmission Oil Pump
1. Be sure all the parts of the transmission oil pump are clean and free of dirt and debris prior to assembly. 2. Use tool (A) to install the lip-type seal in the cover assembly as shown. Install the seal with the lip facing out as shown and until it makes contact with the counterbore in the cover. Put a small amount of clean oil on the lip of the seal. Install the O-ring seal in the cover assembly. 3. Use tool (A) to install bearings (1) in the cover.4. Install the bearings to a depth of 1.57 mm (.062 in) below the machined surface of the cover assembly. Be sure joints (X) of the bearings are 30° 15° from a centerline through the bearing bores as shown. The bore in the bearings (new) must be 31.786 0.008 mm (1.2514 .0003 in). 5. Install O-ring seal (3) on the cover assembly.6. Install body assembly (2). 7. Install drive gear assembly (4) and idler gear (5) in the body and cover assemblies in their original locations. 8. Use tool (A) to install bearings (6) in the manifold.9. Install the bearings to a depth of 1.52 0.51 mm (.059 .020 in) below the machined surface of the manifold. Be sure joints (Y) of the bearings are 30° 15° from a centerline through bearing bores as shown. The bore in the bearings (new) must be 31.786 0.008 mm (1.2514 .0003 in). 10. Install O-ring seal (8) in the
