Remove the flywheel housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel Housing - Remove and Install".

Loosen four bolts (1). Loosen the bolts approximately 6.4 mm (0.25 inch). Use Tool (A) and pull the camshaft gear (2) off the camshaft. Hold balancer gear (3) in position. Remove four bolts (1) and remove the camshaft rear gear (2).

Remove bolt (4), plate (5), and balancer gear (3).
Inspect the bearing in balancer gear (3). The bore of a new bearing is 50.853 mm (2.002 inch) to 50.950 mm (2.006 inch).

Use Tool (B) and a press in order to remove the bearing from the balancer gear (3).

Inspect shaft (6) for wear or damage. The outside diameter of a new shaft is 50.787 mm (1.9995 inch) to 50.813 mm (2.0005 inch).
If shaft (6) must be replaced, remove bolts (7).
