If the pressure setting is not correct, lower the bucket to the ground and stop the engine. Tilt the cab. Loosen nut (8) on retainer assembly (7). Turn the retainer assembly clockwise for an increase in the pressure setting. Turn the retainer assembly counterclockwise for a decrease in the pressure setting.
When the pressure setting is correct, tighten nut (8) and remove the test equipment. Lower the cab.Procedure for Removing Air from the Hydraulic Tank
Note: Perform the following procedure whenever the hydraulic system has been fully drained. The procedure is necessary to remove air from the hydraulic system. Damage to the hydraulic pump can result if the procedure is not performed.
Do not use more than 105 kPa (15 psi) of air pressure in the hydraulic tank. Do not disconnect any of the quick disconnect fittings until all pressure in them is released.
Fill the hydraulic tank to the top of the filler screen with oil that is recommended in the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU6915.
Use a 4C-4890 Hydraulic Test Group in order to connect an air regulator and a valve to the test fitting on the hydraulic tank. Connect a hose and connect a needle valve to the test fitting on the hydraulic pump outlet line.
Put 50 to 105 kPa (7 to 15 psi) of air pressure in the hydraulic tank. Open the needle valve in order to allow the oil to drain out of the hose on the pump outlet line. Allow the oil to drain until the oil is free of air bubbles. Close the needle valve.
Close the valve on the air regulator. Loosen the filler cap on the hydraulic tank in order to release all of the pressure in the system. When all pressure is released, disconnect the hose from the test fitting on the pump outlet line and the air regulator from the test fitting on the tank.
Fill the hydraulic tank to the top of the filler screen.
Connect the air regulator and connect the valve to the test fitting on the tank. Put 50 to 105 kPa (7 to 15 psi) of air pressure in the hydraulic tank.
Crank the engine in 10 second intervals. DO NOT start the engine.
Add oil as oil is needed. Always close the valve on the air regulator whenever oil is added to the tank. Always loosen the filler cap on the hydraulic tank in order to release the pressure in the tank whenever oil is added.
Crank the engine in 10 second intervals until the oil level in the hydraulic tank does not change a large amount.
Close the valve on the air regulator and slowly loosen the filler cap on the hydraulic tank in order to release all pressure in the tank. Remove the air regulator and remove the valve from the test fitting on the hydraulic tank.
Start the engine. Allow the engine speed to come up for a short period of time. Move the governor control lever halfway to HIGH IDLE.
