If a testing time longer than three (3) minutes is required, rotate the drum periodically in order to lubricate the eccentric weight shaft bearings.
Use the following procedure before you perform testing and adjusting:
Apply the parking brake.
Place the propel control lever in NEUTRAL.
Place tires under the drum.
Block the rear tires.
Apply a small piece of reflective tape from the 1U-6602 Phototach to the amplitude turn wheel on the three-amplitude system.
Start the engine. Operate the engine at high idle.
Set the parking brake.
Personal injury can result if the machine moves while testing. If the machine begins to move during test, reduce the engine speed immediately and engage the parking brake.
Place the vibratory control switch in the AUTOMATIC position. Slowly move the propel control lever forward until the vibratory system is activated. Record the vibrations per minute (vpm). Record the vpm from the 1U-6602 Phototach. Record the vpm from the optional gauge on the steering console.
Place the propel control lever in NEUTRAL in order to stop the vibratory system.
Slowly move the propel control lever rearward until the vibratory system is activated. Record the vibrations per minute (vpm). Record the vpm from the 1U-6602 Phototach. Record the vpm from the optional gauge on the steering console.
Record the information from the vibratory frequency test on the following table.
Table 2
Frequency
Forward 2520 50 vpm
Reverse 2520 50 vpm        Note: Verify the accuracy of the optional gauge on the control panel.Note: The vibratory frequency in FORWARD should be within 75 vpm of the vibratory frequency in REVERSE.
Place the propel control lever in NEUTRAL in order to stop the vibratory system.
If the frequency is not correct, the vibratory pump must be adjusted.

Vibratory Pump (3) Locknut. (4) Adjusting screw.
Adjustment to the locknut (3) and adjusting screw (4) changes the vibratory frequency in REVERSE.
Retest the vibratory frequency if any adjustments were made.
