See the replacement for the article that follows.Description of Change: A 172-6086 Control Cable Assembly is now available. The new Control Cable Assembly from the machine to the screed uses wire that is braided. The old cable used 36 wire SO cable. The new Control Cable Assembly has straight strain relief connectors on both ends. The changes were made in order to improve the cable.Adaptable To: The change was effective on the following screeds with serial numbers (S/N: 3RM1027-UP; 3PM808-UP; 2MN3542-UP; 2KN2511-UP; 2LN3570-UP). The screeds that have the serial numbers (S/N: 3RM1-1026; 3PM1-807; 2MN1-3541; 2KN1-2510; 2LN1-3569) can be updated if you remove the old control cable. Assemble the 172-6086 Control Cable Assembly and clamp the 172-6086 Control Cable Assembly. Instructions for the correct procedure in order to assemble the 172-6086 Control Cable Assembly are in the Service Magazine, SEPD0553, 04 December 2000, "Improved Routing for the Right Hand Control Harness".
