This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS45519" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
The wires no.N705 and no.N706 for generator excitation current supply have been connected to the 2-way connector A-C11 with wrong polarity on the main harness 472-0412 on certain 3412C Generator Sets. This may lead to the damage or failure of generator exciter stator over long-time operation.

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the Safety Section of the Operation and Maintenance Manual prior to doing any rework.
Swap the two wires on 2-way connector A-C11 to ensure that wire N705 and N706 are respectively connected to pin no.1 and no.2, as shown in Image1. Use pin extraction tool (4C-4074 or 6V-4812) to extract the pins from connector A-C11. Please refer to media SEHS8038 for the guide of using pin extraction tool.
A-C11 is located behind the control module in panel, as shown in Image2.
