Removal Procedure
Open the hood.
Open the access door on the left side of the machine.
Move the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Remove the battery clamp. Remove the battery cover. Disconnect two battery cables on the battery. Move the battery cables away from the terminals.

Remove four bolts (1) from belt guard (2) .
Remove belt guard (2) .

Remove bolt (4). Move the alternator in order to release alternator belt (5) .
Remove bolt (7). Remove bracket (6) .
Remove bolt (8). Remove the nut and the washer. Remove alternator (3) from the upper alternator bracket.

Rotate alternator (3) in order to allow access to the electrical connections.

Disconnect electrical connection (9) and (10) from alternator (3) .

Install alternator (3) in position in order to allow access to the electrical connections.

Install electrical connectors (10) and (9) to rear of alternator (3) .

Install alternator (3) on the alternator bracket.
Install bolt (8). Install the washer and the nut in order to secure alternator (3) .
Install bracket (6). Secure bracket (6) with bolt (7) and bolt (4) .Note: Do not tighten bolt (4) at this time.
Install alternator belt (5) on the alternator pulley.Note: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7208 for the correct tightening procedure for the alternator belt.
Tighten bolt (4) after the proper belt tension is achieved.

Install belt guard (2) on the front of the engine.
Secure belt guard (2) with four bolts (1) .
Connect both terminals of the battery. Install the battery cover. Install the battery clamp.
Move the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
Close the access door on the left side of the machine.
Start the engine. Check the amp gauge for the proper operation of the alternator.
Shut the engine OFF. Check the alternator belt for the proper tension.
Close the hood.
Open the hood.
Open the access door on the left side of the machine.
Move the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Remove the battery clamp. Remove the battery cover. Disconnect two battery cables on the battery. Move the battery cables away from the terminals.
