Introduction
This test is to determine the machine's lifting ability and the cause for the machine being unable to lift its rated load. A machine's lifting ability is based primarily on the pressure available to the lifting cylinder and the machine configuration.
If a machine is able to lift a load while it is close to the machine but is unable to hold the load up when it is moved away from the machine, the overload or line relief valve may be opening. Adjusting the overload (line) relief valve higher than recommended could result in structural damage to the machine.
1. Check lifting capacity.Refer to the Lifting Capacity chart located at the right cab window or to the Operation And Maintenance Manual for the machine's lifting capability.Reference: Refer to SEBU6876 for additional information. When checking machine's lifting capacity, the center of the load is measured relative to the swing centerline and how far the load is above or below ground line. Also take into account any differences in machine configuration from that shown on the lift charts. Expected Result:The lifting capability of the machine is to specification.
