Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove both hoods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove".
Remove the slave cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Slave Cylinder (Governor Control) - Remove".Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and plug all tube assemblies. This helps prevent fluid loss, and this helps keep contaminants from entering the system.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove bracket (1) .

Attach a suitable lifting device (2) to air cleaner support (3).

Loosen two hose clamps (4) .

Remove bolt (6) and the clip. Disconnect tube assembly (5) at the elbow.
Remove three bolts (7). Remove the air cleaner and the support as a unit. The weight of the air cleaner and the support is 35 kg (77 lb).

Loosen hose clamp (8). Remove tube assembly (9) .

Disconnect four wires from negative terminal (12). Disconnect three wires from positive terminal (11) .
Remove plastic cover (10) .

Loosen bolt (13). Remove two bolts (14) .

Attach a suitable lifting device (15) to electric starting motor (16). Remove bolt (13) .

Disconnect wire (18). Disconnect wire (17). Remove electric starting motor (16). The weight of the electric starting motor is 28 kg (62 lb).
