Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Use a nylon lifting strap and a hoist to position axle shaft (4) to the final drive. Use the eyebolt in order to align axle shaft (4) with the axle housing. Remove the tooling from the axle shaft.

Use a piece of pipe that has a diameter of 5 cm (2 inch) to install axle shaft (4) to the final drive.

Position the O-ring seal and cover (3) to the final drive. Install the washers and six bolts (2) that secure cover (3) to the final drive.

Install the O-ring seal and plug (1) to the final drive.
Fill the final drive and the differential. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7184 for the appropriate oil and the correct amount of oil.
