Remove the stick. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Stick - Remove".
When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Do not use threaded rods that have not been hardened as tooling with hydraulic cylinders. The maximum rated tonnage should be stamped on one end of the puller studs. Do not use threaded rods that have not been stamped with the rated tonnage.

Remove two lip type seals (1) from the stick at the pin joint for the bucket.
Use Tooling (A) to remove the two bearings at the pin joint for the bucket. Fasten Tooling (A) to the stick. Fasten a lifting strap and a hoist to Tooling (A) for support. Remove the bearing. Remove the bearing on the opposite side of the stick in the same manner.

Remove two lip type seals (2) from the stick at the pin joint for the boom.

Note: For the removal of the lip type seals and the bearings from the stick at the pin joint for the bucket control linkage, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bucket Linkage Bearings - Remove".
Use Tooling (B) to remove the two bearings from the stick at the pin joint for the boom. Fasten Tooling (B) to the stick, as shown. Fasten a lifting strap and a hoist to Tooling (B) for support. Remove the bearing. Remove the bearing on the opposite side of the stick in the same manner.
