2. Disconnect oil lines (1) and (2).3. Remove bolts (3) and remove the pilot system oil pump. The following steps are for the installation of the pilot system oil pump. Be sure that the O-ring seal is in position on the pilot system oil pump.4. Put the pilot system oil pump in position on the swing pump. Install bolts (3).5. Connect oil lines (1) and (2).6. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Operation And Maintenance Manual.Disassemble And Assemble Pilot System Oil Pump (Earlier)
Start By:a. remove pilot system oil pump Put identification marks on pump parts for assembly purposes. 1. Remove eight bolts (2) and flange (1) from body (3). 2. Remove O-ring seal (4). Remove two lip seals (5) and the ring between the two lip seals. 3. Remove ring retainer (6), O-ring (8), back-up ring (9), and isolation plate (7). 4. Lift drive gear (11) to dislodge pressure plate (10) from the body. Remove pressure plate (10). 5. Remove drive gear (11) and idler gear (12). 6. Place the thumb of each hand in the holes in bottom pressure plate (13) and lift out. Use extreme care in the removal of this plate. Do not pry or force plate from the body. 7. Remove O-ring seal (16), back-up ring (17), retainer ring (15) and isolation plate (14). 8. If necessary, remove bearings (18). The following steps are for the assembly of the pilot system oil pump.9. Thoroughly clean all pump parts. See Diagnosing Tyrone Gear Pump Failures, Form No. FEG45137.10. Using tooling (A) install bearings (18) if necessary.11. Coat the inside of the pump body with clean hydraulic oil.12. Install isolation plate (14) with the chamfered side down.13. Install retainer ring (15) in place on the opposite side of the bores from the isolation plate.14. Put back-up ring (17) in position around the bores as shown.15. Install O-ring seal (16) against the back-up ring insuring that it seats itself in the groove in the edge of the back-up ring.16. Install pressure plate (13) with the bronze side facing the gears and the rounded trap slot facing the discharge side. Keep the plate as level as possible and slide it into position in the bottom of the body. Do not force the plate.17. Install drive gear (11) and idler gear (12) in the pump body. Be sure to install the drive gear in the proper bore. Do not drop the gears into place. Dropping the gears will damage the bronze pressure plate.18. Install pressure plate (10) with the bronze side facing the gears and the rounded trap slot facing the discharge side.19. Put isolation plate (7) in position on top of the pressure plate. Install retainer ring (6) and back-up ring (9).20. Install O-ring seal (8) against the back-up ring (9) insuring that it is seated in the groove in the edge of the back-up ring.21.
