1. Activate the parking brake.2. Connect the steering frame lock link. See "Separate & Connect Steering Frame Lock Link" in this module.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the filler cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Be sure all the hydraulic pressure is released before any fittings, hoses or components are loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted.
3. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system as follows: a. Stop the engine. Lower the bucket to the ground.b. Move the control levers back and forth to release the pressure in the hydraulic system.c. Slowly remove the hydraulic tank filler cap.4. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank. The capacity of the tank is 72 liter (19) U.S. gal).5. Remove the engine hood.6. Remove lower side engine panels, both sides.7. Remove the left and right hand engine doors from the machine. 8. Remove six bolts (1) and cover (2). 9. Remove three bolts (3) and set the switches, circuit breakers, wiring harness and panel assembly (4) aside as a unit. Mark and identify all lines, hoses and wires before disconnecting for purposes of reassembly.10. Disconnect the wire from switch (5).11. Disconnect hose (8) from air/hydraulic cylinder (7).12. Remove two bolts, the spacers and support bracket (7).13. Repeat steps 10 through 12 for the remaining air/hydraulic cylinder (7). 14. Disconnect lines (12) and (13) from the air dryer.15. Remove the support clips from wire harness (10) and wire harness (11).16. Remove the bolts from both sides of plate assembly (9). 17. Remove the two bolts and tube assembly (14). Check the condition of the O-ring seal in tube assembly (14), and replace with a new parts if the O-ring seal is worn or damaged.18. Remove the four bolts to disconnect tube assembly (15) from the bottom of the hydraulic tank.19. Remove four bolts to disconnect elbow (16) from the bottom of the hydraulic tank. 20. Disconnect tube assembly (17) from the hydraulic tank.21. Remove the bolts, washers and spacers from tube assemblies (18) and (19) to disconnect them from the hydraulic tank. 21. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to the hydraulic tank as shown. 22. Remove the two bolts and angle assembly (20) from both sides of the machine.23. Disconnect tube assemblies (21) from unions (23).24. Remove four bolts (22) from both pedestal assemblies (24).25. Remove the hydraulic tank from the machine. The weight of the oil tank is 195 kg (430 lb.). 26. Check the condition of the O-ring seals in tube assemblies (15), (16), (18), and (19), and replace with new parts if the O-ring seals are worn or damaged. Make sure all O-rings and mating surfaces are clean. Use 1U6396 O-Ring Compound when installing the O-rings seals.27. Install the hydraulic tank in the reverse order of removal.28. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. See
