Information:
Illustration 417. Remove the 6I6991 Pistons from the 7I7558 Barrel. Set the pistons aside and cover them to prevent contamination. It is not necessary to return the pistons to the same hole they are removed from. The pistons are not a select fit.18. Remove and discard the 6I6996 Retainer Plate. See Illustration 5.
Illustration 519. Remove the 6I6997 guide and add the .8mm shim from the 1225329 Kit to the shim(s) already in place. Be certain to keep the proper orientation of the springs and shims within the guide during assembly. The shims are to be positioned next to the barrel. When the springs are properly arranged they will resemble a "W" when viewed from the side (see Illustration 6). Reassemble the guide to the barrel.
Illustration 620. Place the improved retainer plate with the bronze insert, from the kit, on the 6I6997 Guide. Lubricate the bronze contact area with grease before reassembly. Swivel the retainer on the guide several times to be sure it is seated.21. Reassemble the pistons through the retainer plate and into the barrel. Swivel the retainer plate again, with the pistons in place, to check for smooth operation.
Illustration 722. Check the location of the 1076547 Swash plate in the motor and assure that it is properly seated.23. Assemble the rotating group on the 6I6994 Shaft. See Illustration 8. a. Swivel the retainer plate to the maximum angle and insert the rotating group into the housing with the leading edge adjacent to the 6I6986 minimum angle adjustment rod. This adjustment will decrease the width of the rotating group slightly and ease assembly. Also, by tipping the rotating group toward the minimum angle adjustment rod, at the same time you are pushing in, the process may be easier.b. It may be necessary to slightly turn the group to line up the splines on the shaft with those in the barrel. When the rotating group is in the proper location the end will be inside the motor housing (refer to Step 16).
Illustration 824. Use the seals in the kit and replace the 7I7573 0-ring Seal on the end of the 6I6984 Motor Housing. Use grease to hold the seal in place during assembly. Also replace the 6V8398 Seal on the threaded end of the 6I6986 Minimum Angle Adjustment Rod.25. Check the condition of the duct tape on the splined end of the 6I6994 Shaft. The tape should cover all of the splined area to protect the head assembly seal during reassembly.
Illustration 926. Use the kit and replace the 6I6985 Head Assembly and 7I0033 Lip Seal if it was damaged during disassembly or the machine has more than 500 hours. See Illustration 10.a. Remove the port plate from the head assembly. The plate can be lifted off the head assembly.b. Remove the 7I0003 Roller Bearing from the head assembly. See Illustration 11. Use caution not to damage the roller bearing during removal. A small heel bar may need to used to catch the outer race.
c. Remove the shaft seal
