Information:
Machine Stopping
Park on a level surface. If it is necessary to park on a grade, block the tracks securely.
1. Turn engine speed dial counterclockwise to reduce the engine speed. 2. Release the travel levers/pedals to stop the machine.3. Lower the implement to the ground and apply slight down pressure. 4. Move the hydraulic activation control lever to the LOCKED position.Freezing Conditions
If freezing temperatures are expected, each track roller frame should be cleaned of mud and dirt and the machine parked on wood planks. 1. Position the boom over one side. 2. Use boom down pressure to lift the track on that side off the ground. Operate the track in forward, then reverse until the maximum amount of material is thrown clear.3. Lower the track onto the planks.4. Repeat the procedure for the other track.5. Clean in and around the carrier rollers and track rollers.6. Lower the bucket or implement onto a plank.Engine Stopping
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.Refer to the following stopping procedure, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger center housing, (if equipped) which could cause oil coking problems.
1. With the machine stopped, run the engine for five minutes at LOW IDLE by turning the engine speed dial to "1". Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.Never turn the disconnect key to OFF while the engine is running. 2. Turn the engine start switch key to OFF. Remove the key. Make sure the engine speed dial is set at "1" for the next starting.Leaving the Machine
1. Use the steps and handholds, use both hands and face the machine, when dismounting.2. Inspect the engine compartment for debris. Clean out any debris and paper to avoid a fire.3. Remove all flammable debris from front bottom guard through the access doors to reduce fire hazard.4. Lock vandalism covers and all compartments, such as tool box cover, engine hood, side covers and fuel tank cap. 5. Unlatch the storage box located at the right side of the cab and remove the vandalism guards. 6. Install the vandalism guards to the front window and cab door and lock them. An identification number is stamped on each of the guards. Install them in their correct positions in the indicated number sequence. Use bolts (A) only for guards (3) and (5). This will allow all of the guards to be held in place.
