preparatory step: a) remove wheel planetary final drive If machine is equipped with attachment parking brake, release brakes as follows: a. Disconnect air lines to the apply side of the rotochamber and pressurize the apply side of the rotochamber with shop air.b. Disconnect the air line to the parking lock release mechanism on the lower side of the rotochamber. Apply shop air to the lock release mechanism and maintain the pressure.c. Relieve shop air pressure to the apply side of the rotochamber and the brakes will release.d. Relieve the pressure to the lock release mechanism, and reconnect all air brake lines.1. Raise and support tractor.2. Remove retaining washer and shims. 3. Using hoist and lifting bracket, tool (A), remove hub and ring gear-weight 190 lbs. (86 kg).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE4. Support wheel with lift truck and remove outer wheel bearing.5. Remove wheel using lift truck-weight 4700 lbs. (2132 kg).Install Final Drive Ring Gear, Hub, And Wheel
1. Install wheel using a lift truck.2. Install wheel outer bearing. 3. Install hub and ring gear using tool (A).4. Adjust wheel bearing as follows: Install hub retaining washer with no shims and five bolts.
TYPICAL EXAMPLEa. Tighten bolts to 100 10 lb. ft. (13,8 1,4 mkg), while rotating wheel.b. Measure gap with a depth micrometer, and install shims .010 in. (0,25 mm) more than measured gap. c. Install retainer bolts and tighten to 150 20 lb. ft. (20,7 2,8 mkg).5. Adjust brake slack adjuster to provide 2.5 in. (64 mm) rod travel.concluding step: a) install planetary final drive
