Use Tool (A) in order to install lip seal (13) .

Install seal (12) and install ceramic ring (11) .

Use Tool (A) and a press in order to install shaft (10) onto bearing (9) .

Install shaft (10) and bearing (9) as a unit.

Install seal (17) and position spring (16) onto seal (17) .

Position impeller (8) and install washer (15) and bolt (7). Torque bolt (7) to 55 10 N m (40 7 lb ft).

Position cover (6) and install bolt (5) .Note: Check condition of the gasket that was removed. Replace worn gaskets and damaged gaskets. Use only new Caterpillar parts.

Use Tool (B) in order to install retaining ring (4) .

Use Tool (A) and a press to install bearing (2) onto pump gear (3) .

Position pump gear assembly (3) and bearing (2) onto the pump housing, and install twelve point head bolt (1). Tighten twelve point head bolt (1) to 97 7 N m (72 5 lb ft).End By: Install the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Remove and Install". The information is in this manual.
