1. Remove the bolts that hold track guide (1) to the track roller frame.2. Raise one side of the machine and install tooling (A).3. Loosen the track and slide the track guide (1) to the side. See the topic, Separation Of Tracks, in this book for the correct procedure to loosen the track.4. Put a lift truck in position under the track roller and remove bolts (2). Remove the track roller. Weight of the track roller is 68 kg (150 lb). Note the following steps are for the installation of the track roller.5. Use a lift truck and position the track roller on the track roller frame. Install bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 750 80 N m (550 60 lb ft).6. Slide track guide (1) into position under the track roller. Remove tooling (A) and lower the machine. Install the bolts that hold track guide (1) to the track roller frame.7. Tighten the track. See the Operation And Maintenance Manual for the correct adjustment.Disassemble & Assemble Track Roller
Start By:a. remove track roller 1. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil from the track roller. Remove two pins (1) from collars (2) and shaft (3). Remove collars (2) from shaft (3).2. Remove Duo-Cone seal (4) from roller (5) and collar (2). Remove the Duo-Cone seal from the other end of the roller.3. Remove shaft (3) from the roller assembly. Remove two O-ring seals (7) from shaft (3). Roller bushing assemblies (6) are not serviced separately. If the rim assembly or the bushings are worn, the roller assembly must be replaced. The following steps are for the assembly of the track roller.

The rubber seals and all surfaces that make contact with the seals must be clean and dry. After installation of the seals, put oil on the contact surfaces of the metal seals.4. Install Duo-Cone seal (4) in the roller assembly with tool (A).5. Install Duo-Cone seal (4) in collar (2) with tool (A).6. Install two O-ring seals (7) on shaft (3).7. Lubricate the shaft, O-ring seals and the bushing bores with clean oil. Install shaft (3) in the roller assembly.8. Put collars (2) on the shaft. Install two pins (1). Using tooling (B) check the end play of the track roller assembly. Refer to the 245B Excavator And Front Shovel Hydraulic System, Specifications, Form SENR3892, for the proper end play specification.9. Install the plug and put 600 ml (1.27 pt) SAE 30W oil in the roller.End By:a. install track roller
