(1) 191-5322 Cylinder Group is used for the cylinder heads.
(2) Tooling (D) is used on the front studs on the front cylinder heads for 3612 and 3616 Diesel Engines.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Install O-ring seals (13) to adapters (15).
Install adapters (15) to seal plate (18) and seal plate (19).
Install O-ring seals (17) to seal plate (18) and seal plate (19).
Install O-ring seals (16) to seal plate (19).
Install O-ring seals (14) to seal plate (18).
Install seal plate (18) and seal plate (19) to the cylinder block.
Install gasket (12) to the cylinder liner.
Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to cylinder head (11) and position cylinder head (11) to the engine. The weight of cylinder head (11) is approximately 204 kg (450 lb).

Install cylinder head nuts (11B) to taperlock studs (11A).

Install Tooling (A) to taperlock studs (11A). When Tooling (A) is tight on taperlock studs (11A), back Tooling (A) off 1/4 turn.

Install Tooling (B) to Tooling (A).

Set Tooling (B) in order to achieve 125000 4920 kPa (18130 715 psi). When pressure is applied to Tooling (A) tighten cylinder head nuts (11B) hand tight. Release the pressure from Tooling (B). Remove Tooling (A) and Tooling (B).Note: If Red Mark (X) has been exposed during the application of pressure to Tooling (A), Tooling (A) is at maximum travel. Release the pressure in Tooling (B) and repeat Steps 10 through 12. Failure to release the pressure could result in damage to Tooling (A), or cylinder head nuts (11B) may not be tightened properly.
