start by: a) remove drive chains1. Remove the oil pressure in brake circuit by making applications of the foot brakes with the diesel engine shut off. Use as many applications as necessary until brake pressure gauge shows zero oil pressure in brake circuit.
Do not disconnect or remove any brake oil lines until all oil pressure has been removed from the brake circuit.
2. Disconnect brake oil line (1) from tandem drive housing. 3. Put tooling (A) in position under frame of machine, and connect asuitable hydraulic pump. Lift the machine, and remove the supports from under tandem drive housing. 4. Fasten a hoist to the tandem drive housing, and remove the thirty nuts (3).5. Remove tandem drive housing (2). Weight of housing is 2600 lb. (1180 kg).Install Tandem Drive Housings
1. Fasten a hoist to the tandem drive housing, and put the housing in position on machine. Make sure the O-ring seal (1) is in correct position. 2. Install the thirty nuts (2). 3. Connect the brake oil line (3) to tandem drive housing.4. Put support under each end of tandem drive housing. Lower the machine on to supports, and remove tooling (A).5.
