PL240 and PL240B devices do not connect with the service tool.Note: The PL241 will not show up with Cat ET when connecting to the service port on the equipment. The PL241 is only accessible through the three-pin serial service port on the PL241 harness, refer to System Operation, Troubleshooting, Testing, and Adjusting, UENR6983, "Service Tools" for more information.When the electronic service tool does not communicate with the Cat Telematics system, use the following diagnostic steps to determine the fault.Note: Always use the latest version of CAT ET.
Connect the equipment by using the 245-7310 Control Harness As and the 370-8059 Adapter Kit.
If CAT ET does not detect the telematics ECM, proceed to Step 2.
If the telematics ECM is detected, proceed to System Operation Troubleshooting, Testing, and Adjusting, UENR6983, "Cellular Radio Does Not Communicate".
Check the green LEDs on the radio.
If the green LEDs are on, proceed to Step 4.
If the green LEDs are off, proceed to Step 3.
Using a voltmeter, check for system voltage on the radio. Pin two is the battery negative and pin three is switched power.Note: Even if Key switch power is not present, the radio will boot up when the battery disconnect is first disengaged. When the radio goes from having no battery power to having battery power, the Product Link device will turn on long enough to find a GPS location, and send any missed "End of Day Reports".
