Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the power train guard.
Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the blade to the ground. Chock the wheels to prevent the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.
Put alignment marks on all components for installation purposes.

Remove bolts (1) and the straps.Note: Discard bolts (1) after bolts (1) are removed.
Remove rear drive shaft (2).Installation Procedure
When the rear drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the rear axle assembly yoke. The rear drive shaft must be installed in phase with the center and front drive shafts. Serious component damage could occur. Be certain that all the joint groups, all the yokes, and all the lubricating fittings are aligned.
Be sure that the universal joints are positioned on the same centerline with the rear drive shaft.
Install rear drive shaft (2) in the reverse order of removal.
Install new bolts (1) and tighten new bolts (1) to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb ft).End By:
