Start By:a. remove floor plateb. remove foot pedal floor platec. remove mirror Fluid Spillage ContainmentCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. 1. Drain the hydraulic tank as follows:a. Open the small door at the front of the machine.b. Locate and position the drain hose to catch all the hydraulic oil in a container.c. Open valve (1) and drain the hydraulic tank. Capacity is approximately 100 liters (26.4 U. S. gal.).
Be sure to clean all fittings and oil line connections before lines are disconnected. Install plugs in all openings to keep dirt out of the hydraulic system.
2. Disconnect line (1) and line (2). 3. Remove main line (3) and hose (4).4. Remove suction line (5) and suction hose (6). 5. Install tooling (A) and (B) as shown. 6. Attach tooling (B) to pump (8) as shown.7. Remove nuts (7) and pump (8). Install the implement pump in the following manner. 8. Install O-ring and pump (8) and tighten nuts (7) to a torque of 240 40 N m (178 30 lb ft). 9. Install O-ring and line (5) and tighten bolts to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).10. Install hose (4).11. Install O-rings and line (3). 12. Install lines (1) and (2). 13. Close valve (1) and fill the hydraulic tank. Capacity is approximately 100 liters (26.4 U. S. gal.). Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. If the complete hydraulic system has been drained, See Implement Fill And Air Removal Procedure.
Do not start the engine until the air is removed from the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump can be damaged if it is not filled with oil when the engine is started.
14. To remove the air from the hydraulic pump, loosen hose (4) until air comes out. Tighten hose (4) when oil starts to come out of the fitting.
