Introduction
The following procedure will determine if the accumulator for the quick drop is charged to the appropriate nitrogen pre-charge pressure. Perform Test and Adjust, "Piston Pump Pressure - Test and Adjust" before performing this test to ensure that the charge pressure is correct.Required Tools

Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location.
Place the steering control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Illustration 2 g03806701
Verify that the bolt and washer are removed from location (1) on the counterweight frame and stored properly in the block indicated in illustration 2.
Extend the counterweight approximately 30.5 cm (12 inch).
Stop the engine.
Turn the key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
Verify that the implement lockout switch is in the UNLOCKED position.
Move the thumb rocker for the counterweight control to the EXTEND position. The counterweight should move outward to the neutral position.
Move all hydraulic controls through all positions in order to relieve hydraulic pressure. Repeat this step until all hydraulic pressure is released. This procedure should relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.

(CP) Accumulator pressure port
Attach tooling (A) to pressure port (CP). Test Procedure - Pressure Leak Down
Start the engine. Warm the hydraulic oil to 50° 10°C (122° 18°F).
Raise the boom to the vertical position and operate the engine at HIGH IDLE.
Operate the hook winch in both directions several times in order to build pressure in the accumulator.
The pressure at pressure tap (CP) should be 3470 200 kPa (503 29 psi).
Stop the engine.
Turn the key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
Verify that the implement lockout switch is in the UNLOCK position.
Do not move any implement control levers.
Observe Tooling (A) for 3 minutes. The pressure at pressure port (CP) should remain above 2800 kPa (406 psi). If the pressure at pressure port (CP) falls below 2800 kPa (406 psi), there may be a leak in the quick drop system. You also may need to perform the steps in "Charge Procedure - Accumulator Charge". Adjustment Procedure - Pressure Leak Down
There are no adjustments that can be made to reduce pressure leaks in the system. Investigate the components of the charging system to determine the cause of the system leakage.Test Preparation - Accumulator Charge
Perform the steps in the "Test Preparation - Pressure Leak Down" Test Procedure - Accumulator Charge
There is no onboard test for the nitrogen precharge pressure in the accumulator. Charge Procedure - Accumulator Charge
Refer to Special Instruction, REHS5464, "Accumulator Discharging and Charging Procedures"
