Rework Procedure
Verify the date code of each 134-2252 and 288-8390 Temperature Sensor on the machine. If the date code on the sensor is older than September 24, 2012, replace the temperature sensor.
Check the label to determine when the sensor was made. The label is attached to the sensor sleeve.
The date code format is mmddyy (m=month, d=day, y=year) and consists of the first six digits of the third line of the label. The example date code shown in Image 1.1.1 is, 102512 and translates to October 25, 2012.

Install a new sensor as needed. Tighten the sensor to 20 +/- 5 Nm.
After the sensor is installed, make certain to anchor the sensor harness to the sensor body using the 3S-2093 Tie Strap. Ensure that there is a 1 inch loop in the harness as shown in Image 1.2.1.
The 1 inch loop is critical to the life of the sensor harness. If the harness is pulled too small, water can enter the senor body. If the loop is too large, wire breakage will occur due to excessive harness movement.
