Remove Vibration Damper And Hub
start by:a) remove radiator 1. Remove a bolt (1) from the top and bottom of the one side of the fan guard. Remove both halves of the fan guard. 2. Fasten a strap and hoist to the fan. Remove bolts (2) and remove the fan. 3. Loosen nuts (4). Loosen locknut (3) and the adjustment screw for the fan belts. Remove the fan belts. 4. Put a mark on the shaft so bushing (5) can be installed in the same position on the shaft. Loosen setscrew (6). 5. Loosen three bolts (7) approximately 1/4 in. (6.35 mm). Do not remove bolts (7). 6. Use three 3/8"-16 NC bolts 1-1/8 in. long to fasten tooling (A) to the pulley. Use tooling (A) to remove the pulley and bushing from the shaft. 7. Remove bolts (7) and remove the pulley from bushing (5). 8. Remove bolts (8). Remove shaft (9). 9. Remove bolts (10) and the retainer. 10. Install two 1/2"-13 NC guide bolts in the hub. Use two people to remove vibration damper (11) and the spacer from the hub. Weight of vibration damper is 80 lb. (36 kg). 11. Install the 5P2145 Step Plate (12), part of tooling (B), and the retainer back on the end of the crankshaft. If step plate (12) is not available, use a spacer that will give approximately 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) clearance between the retainer and hub (13). 12. Fasten the FT915 Adapter Plate (14), part of tooling (B), to the hub. Tighten the bolts that hold the adapter plate so the adapter plate is parallel to the hub. 13. Install the remainder of tooling (B) and loosen the hub from the crankshaft. Remove tooling (B), the retainer and hub from the crankshaft.Install Vibration Damper And Hub
1. Clean and put oil on the crankshaft and inside diameter of hub (1). Put hub (1) in position on the crankshaft. 2. Put retainer (2) in position and install the bolts that hold it in place. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 130 - 170 lb.ft. (175 - 230 N m). 3. Install two 1/2"-13 NC guide bolts in the hub. Install spacer (3) on the hub. Use two people to install vibration damper (4) on the hub. Weight is 80 lb. (36 kg). 4. Put shaft (5) in position and install the bolts that hold it in place. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 100 10 lb.ft. (135 14 N m).5. Install the key and bushing (6) on the shaft in their original position. Tighten the setscrew that holds the bushing and key in place. 6. Clean and put oil on the outside diameter of the bushing and the inside diameter of pulley (7). Put pulley (7) in position on the bushing. 7. Install bolts (8) that hold the pulley in place. 8. Use a straight edge or the 5P3920 Steel Rule (9) from the 5P3919 Custom Track Service Kit to check the alignment of the
