Raise the truck body or lower the truck body so that the body rails are parallel to the frame rails.
The nominal distance between the body rails and the frame rails is 42 mm (1.7 inch) at each of the ten locations on the rails.
Measure the actual distance between the body rail and the frame rail. Place pad assemblies (1) on the top of the main frame.
As required, use shims (2) in order to produce zero clearance between the rails. Refer to the Hydraulic System Specifications, "Body Mounting" for the proper shims to use.

Note: The truck should be on a level surface. The pivot pin for the truck body should be installed. The hoist cylinders should be installed. The pad assemblies for the truck body should have been installed.

Raise and lower the truck body three times. This is done in order to help center the body.
Raise the truck body and wipe off the bottom face of front body supports (C) .
Apply paint to the bottom face of front body supports (C) at the point of contact with pad assemblies (3) .
While the paint is still wet, lower the truck body completely.
Raise the body and examine the contact pattern that is transferred to pad assemblies (3) from the face of front body supports (C) .
Use shims (4) in order to adjust each pad assembly (3), as needed. Shim each pad assembly (3) until the proper contact pattern is achieved. Shim pad assemblies (3) one at a time.Note: The nominal distance between the face of pivot assemblies (5) and the face of the front body supports (C) is 44 mm (1.7 inch) at both locations.
If a proper contact pattern cannot be achieved by shimming pad assemblies (3), pivot assemblies (5) and pedestals (6) will need to be repositioned on the main crossbeam for the chassis.
