Before starting the machine, check: 1. Overall machine for missing shields and guards, leaks, loose bolts, loose connectors, etc.2. Oil level of both engines. Add oil if necessary. See pages 5-17 and 5-24 for procedures.3. Coolant level of both engines. Add coolant if necessary. See pages 5-18 and 5-24 for procedures.4. Fuel level. Add fuel if necessary. See page 5-31 for procedure.5. Engine B (Caterpillar 3208) water separator. Drain the water before the first start of the day or if the separator is half full of water. See page 5-21 for procedure.6. Hydraulic oil level. Use the replenishing pump to transfer oil from the replenishing (refill) tank to the main oil tank, if necessary. See page 5-34 for procedures.7. Radiators and oil cooler for obstructions to air flow. REMOVE ANY DUST, MUD, BUGS, PAPER, ETC. See pages 5-19, 5-25 and 5-34 for procedures.8. Be sure the appropriate lubrication specified in the Service Chart has been completed.
