Radio Disable Switch
The Radio Disable switch is used to disable power to the cellular radio when transmitting a radio signal is not desired. The PLE601 Network Manager will continue to record data from equipment operations, even though the cellular radio is powered off.Installation Procedure
Note: Ensure that power is disconnected from the battery during the beginning steps of the installation.
Place the main disconnect in the OFF position.
For installations using the 494-0215 Wiring Harness and the 493-9925 Wiring Harness, continue to Step 2.
Determine a suitable location for the radio disable switch near the operator station head liner that can easily be reached.

Drill pattern template for the 353-4515 Toggle Switch Gp (radio disable switch).
Mount the 353-4515 Toggle Switch Gp (radio disable switch) in a convenient location. Place the 293-4950 Film near the switch.
Plug the 353-4515 Toggle Switch Gp into the 155-2267 Connector Plug As that came installed on the harness or was installed on the harness in the previous steps.
Route and plug the harness into the 353-4515 Toggle Switch Gp and 3-pin radio disable switch connector on the harness.
Place the main disconnect switch in the ON position.
Turn the key switch to the ON position.
Verify that the radio is ON.
Move the Radio Disable switch to the OFF position.
Verify that the radio is OFF.
Return the Radio Disable switch to the ON position.Operation
To use the radio disable switch, perform the following steps:
Place the switch in the OFF position.

The Network Manager ECM is configured with Cat ET using the following communications interfaces:
The 171-4400 Communication Adapter Gp or 317-7484 Communication Adapter Gp is connected between the machine service connector and the PC serial port or parallel port.
The Cat ET Communications Interface Device is configured for Cat Communications Adapter II (RP1210) or Cat Communication Adapter 3 (RP1210).Note: The configuration parameters for the "Communications Interface Device" are found in Cat ET under "Utilities", in the "Preferences" drop-down menu.Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool
Cat ET is a software program that is used to access data. The service technician can use Cat ET to perform maintenance on the generator set. Some of the options that are available with Cat ET are listed below:
Viewing the status of parameters
Printing reports
The failures of the ECM system are displayed
