1. Open tool box cover (1). 2. Remove bolts (2) and the washers, then remove cover (1) from its mounting. 3. Disconnect electrical connectors (3) and (4). 4. Remove bolts (6) and the washers from cover (5). Use two people or a hoist to remove cover (5) from the battery compartment. The weight of cover (5) is 25 kg (55 lb). 5. Disconnect electrical connectors (7) and (8).

View Of 928G Counterweight6. Position a power truck under counterweight (10) as shown. Use wood blocks (9) to prevent counterweight (10) from tipping during removal.7. Remove bolts (11) that hold counterweight (10) to the machine frame. Remove the counterweight from the machine. The weight of the IT28G counterweight is 512 kg (1126 lb). The weight of the 928G counterweight is 394 kg (867 lb).
IT28G Only8. Put an appropriate sized rod (12) through the hole in counterweight (14) as shown. Position a power truck under the rod and remove bolts (13) and the washers that hold the counterweight to the machine frame. Remove the counterweight from the machine. The weight of the counterweight is 125 kg (275 lb).9. Remove the counterweight from the right side of the machine in the same manner as Step 8. For the installation of the counterweights, reverse the order of the removal.
