Remove Gearshaft Controls (Direct Drive)
start by:a) remove support and seat group **See OPERATOR'S STATION, D4E and D6D. Gear shift controls can be removed with the transmission in the tractor. The transmission is removed for better illustration. 1. Remove three bolts (1) from the bearing. Remove bearing and shaft (2) from the transmission control. 2. Remove the bolts (3) that hold the cover to the transmission. 3. Remove the bolts from the retainer and install two 3/8"-16 NC forged eyebolts (4). Fasten a hoist to the eyebolts. Remove cover assembly (5). The weight of the cover assembly is 65 lb. (29 kg). 4. Put forks (6), (7), (9) and (10) in the positions shown. The forks can be moved by hand.5. Remove four bolts (8) and locks. Remove the shifter fork assembly.Install Gearshift Controls (Direct Drive)
1. Put the shifter fork assembly (3) in position in the transmission. Install the four locks and bolts (4) that hold it.2. Remove the bolts in the retainer and install two 3/8"-16 NC forged eyebolts (1). Fasten a hoist to the eyebolts. Put the cover assembly (2) and gasket in position on the transmission. 3. Install bolts (6) that hold the cover to the transmission.4. Put the shaft (5) and bearing in position in the cover. Install the bolts that hold it.Disassemble Gearshift Controls (Direct Drive)
start by:a) remove gearshift controls 1. Remove clamp (2). Remove two bolts (3) and remove boot, ring and retainer (1). 2. Remove four bolts (4). Remove guide assembly and adapter (5) as a unit from the cover. 3. Remove the cotter pin from the lever. Remove cover (9), spring (8), cover (7) and packing (6) from the adapter. 4. Remove two pins (11) with a punch and hammer. Remove two shafts (10).5. Remove adapter (5) from the guide assembly. 6. Remove pin (12) from guide (14). Remove lever (13) from guide. 7. Remove nut and bolt (15) from lever (19). Remove the lever from shaft (17). Remove washer (20) and bearing (21) from the shaft. Remove the seal from the bearing. Remove cotter pin (16) from the shaft and remove washer (18). 8. Loosen bolt (24). Use a soft hammer and hit lever (25) down until shaft (23) can be removed. Remove lever (22) from shaft. 9. Remove two bolts (26) and locks from retainer (27). Remove the retainer. 10. Remove four springs (29) and plungers (30) from the front bracket. Remove the front bracket.11. Remove two bolts (28) and locks from lock (32). Remove rear bracket (31). 12. Remove lockwire (34). Remove bolt (33). Slide fork (35) off of shaft (36).13. Do the procedure in Step 12 again for the other three forks and shafts.Assemble Gearshift Control (Direct Drive)
1. Assemble the four forks and shafts. Install the shaft in the fork. Tighten the bolt in the fork. Install a wire through the bolt and around the fork so the bolt will not come loose. 2. Install shafts (2), (3), (4) and (5) in front bracket (6).3. Put
