There have been isolated instances of problems with certain flash files. In some instances, the technician is not able to follow the correct procedures in Troubleshooting. This is due to the fact that the "Fuel System Verification Test" is not supported in the earlier software.Some engines will require a new flash file. This depends on the current engine software. Other engines will require a new flash file and new electronic unit injectors.The electronic unit injectors should be replaced if the following occurs:
Damage to the electronic unit injectors
The diagnostic procedure recommends a replacement electronic unit injector.The new flash file will support the "Fuel System Verification Test". For more information about flash files, refer to Troubleshooting, "Flash Programming".
