Installation Procedure

Verify that all of the components of steering column (8) are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.
Inspect all of the components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.
Use four bolts (7) and the lockwashers to install steering column (8).

Use four truss head screws (5) and the washers to install steering column cover (6).
Illustration 3 g00522209Note: Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of nut (4).
Install the steering column to the splined shaft. Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 101.7 2.0 N m (75 1 lb ft).

Connect tube assembly (1) and the O-ring seal, as shown.
Connect wire harnesses (3) and (2) to the multifunction switch at the electrical connection.
Fill the steering hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil to the correct level. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering System Oil - Change" for the correct procedure. End By:
Install the air control valve (manual retarder). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Control Valve (Manual Retarder) - Install".
