Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Disconnect the lines (4). Apply 7M-7456 Bearing Mount Compound to the threads of the connectors during assembly.
Remove two bolts (2).
Remove the lubrication metering pump (3). Remove the O-ring.
Check the O-ring seal for wear or damage. Replace this component, if necessary. Note: The following steps describe the adjustment of the flow through the pump.
Rotate both the adjustment screws (1) in the counterclockwise direction to the full open position.
Rotate both the adjustment screws (1) in the clockwise direction to a final position of 20 clicks for the G3612 Engine. For the G3616 Engine, rotate both the adjustment screws (1) in the clockwise direction to a final position of 30 clicks. Note: Refer to the G3612 And G3616 Engines, Specifications, SENR5527. This manual describes the required torque for the threads of the connectors.Installation Procedure

Replace the lubrication metering pump (3). Check the O-ring seal for wear or damage. Replace this component, if necessary.
