PLATE 2552603 - Caterpillar

Remove the current CMS display and replace it with a 158-8714 CMS Display. Install a new film on the CMS panel after installation. The required film is listed in the above chart.
1. Connect a 7X-1701 Caterpillar Communications Adapter between the CAT Data link port and a portable computer loaded with Electronic Technician software.2. Start ET from Windows (ET ver. 2.2 or higher required to set hours).3. Select "Cat Mon Sys - D11" when prompted for ECM.4. When the ECM status screen for "Cat Mon Sys - D11" appears, click the "Information" menu item. An item labeled "Current Totals" will appear.5. Click on "Current Totals".6. A screen with hour meter and odometer totals will appear. Highlight the entry "Total Operating Hours".7. Click the "Change" button. A dialog box to enter the new hour meter reading will appear.8. Enter a new reading equal to the previous hour meter reading. The hour meter change function only allows hours to be increased, not decreased. Click the "OK" button.9. A dialog box will appear confirming the change. Click "Yes" to accept the change. Otherwise, to abort the procedure and return to the "Current Totals" screen, click "No".
